We currently live in a very throwaway society and if something breaks, our instant reaction is to just discard it and purchase another one. It is a habit that we’ve all gotten into a great deal and it’s something we really do need to snap out of if we want to do our bit for the environment and we want to reduce our collective carbon footprints. Electrical items especially are manufactured to just last just beyond the warranty period because it helps to keep prices down and it helps to keep consumers constantly buying. It can be so easy to just throw out the old appliance and purchase a new one due to its affordability, but we have to start thinking about the earth and what kind of planet that we are going to leave to our children.
It would make far better sense both financially and environmentally to carry out an essential and needed commercial fridge repair rather than just having to put your hand in your pocket and purchase a new one. We need to be more proactive when it comes to our commercial electrical items because these are built to last and if you address the smaller issues before they become much bigger problems later then you find yourself with an appliance that will continue working 20 to 25 years from now. There are so many benefits to repairing your current appliance with regard to the environment, the social elements and the economy as well and the following are just some of those.
- Reducing plastic consumption – Our governments tell us every day that we are using far too much plastic and packaging and it needs to stop. By deciding to throw away your old political item and buy something new, you are contributing to all of this plastic being introduced into our daily lives and it is an incredibly responsible thing to do. If you just get your current electrical item repaired then you are dramatically reducing your carbon footprint and you’re doing something that is incredibly kind for the environment.
- Less landfills – Various council entities try to recycle your old electrical items as much as they can, but there comes a point when nothing else can be reused and so whatever is left has to be dumped in the local landfill site. This is a terrible thing that happens every single day and it could be just avoided if you were to just take the time to have your electrical items like a commercial fridge repaired and it probably would only cost a fraction of what it would be to buy a new one.
- Keeping jobs local – By not purchasing a new commercial fridge, you’re keeping jobs in your local area rather than giving your money to a manufacturing plant that is most likely located in another country. By deciding to repair rather than throw away your electrical items, you’re providing jobs in the local area and you’re keeping your hard earned cash there as well.
Not only will it save money over the long run, but you are taking the environmentally friendly option every time that you decide to have your electrical item repaired rather than taken to the local landfill site.
